About a couple of months ago, I discovered a lump on the right side of my Siamese's face. Lately, I noticed it was getting bigger, so I took him in to my awesome vet. Dr. Sonny took a biopsy and ran it right then and there in the office (he's one of the few vets who know how to read a cell biopsy)
Before he took the smear back to examine it, he advised me that about 80% of the sort of lumps Bob has on his face turn out to be cancerous. I and the friend who gave me a ride to the vet were on tenterhooks waitiing for the verdict, and I was thinking how to pay for any surgery he might need; but when Dr. Sonny came back, he said that Bob's lump was benign. Talk about a relief!!!!!
The visit only cost me $62.00; a price well worth paying to know you're going to have your furbaby with you for the foreseeable future.

Re: Bob Beat The Odds!
Mon, March 31, 2008 - 7:42 AMThat is very good news! As for the benign lump, what will happen with it? Does it just stay there and remain the same size, or what? Is there a non-surgical way to reduce it, or just what does your vet recommend doing with it? Well, I'm so glad Bob is going to be okay! Love the dear little meezer family, they are really excellent companions. So very smart and interactive. My two that are half meezer are the most human-like cats I've ever had. -

Re: Bob Beat The Odds!
Mon, March 31, 2008 - 10:03 PMDr. Sonny said we should not worry about subjecting him to anesthesia unless it gets big enough to interfere with his chewing or anything like that. (He's about 12 now, and we don't want to stress his system unnecessarily.

Tue, April 1, 2008 - 10:48 PMTrue dat. Dr Sonny told me before he ran the biopsy that the odds are about 80% in favor of it being malignant. -
