Sat, January 26, 2008 - 5:01 AMI saw some domestic cats with similar appearance while skimming a cat magazine at my last vet visit. I forget the names of the breeds, but there were some gorgeous felines and some grew quite a bit larger than the average domestic.
The problem is that I have a weird thing about buying an animal. It makes me crazy. There are so many abandoned animals who need good homes. I have never in my life paid money for a living being. It's too creepy. But, I gotta say, I wouldn't mind seeing one of these giant, tiger-looking cats up close and personal.

They are called "sand cats" and they're from the Arabian Peninsula, and also, I think, Pakistan. At only 4 to 8 pounds they're smaller than a lot of domestic cats. I love their round little faces!
