    she waits at the door
    anxiously awaiting treats
    that taste like salmon

Well that's the best I could do! And it took me about ten minutes to come up with it!

    spring fever has sprung
smell of fresh grass, sun-warmed fur
    but where's my food dish

    spring has sprung at last
just as i spring upon my prey
    patterns of life

(Sorry, I'm stuck in my spring fever theme. I'll try for something better once this passes :-)

    I tap on the glass
    Baby squirrels ignore me.
    I watch them eat nuts.

    My Tamurlain's haiku.

Alaric's haiku (which tied for first place on Catster) is

    Tamurlain likes me.
    Morgan will always hate me.
    My bowl is half full.

      Lick the fluffy fur.
      That percussive sound we hear?
      Hairball on the rug!

        hairball = catsplat

My mother came up with that years ago and it's just one of those phrases that fits so well. So descriptive. Alliteration. Perfect emotional resonance. All that good stuff.

Sorry, I don't want to distract anyone from your lovely haiku. Just had to share a fun word.
