So, my boy has learned to play with toy balls. He really is getting into it, which is great because he's never played before.
But apparently, he thinks they are disposable. I even went out and bought a little pack with eight or ten balls for him. He chases them under the sofa, then sits back staring at me until I crawl around to fish them out.
I read an article a while ago about how cats learn to control their humans. I definitely see it now. But we can't help it. We love them anyway, regardless if it is rooted in biological evolution or what. They are our buddies.... well, at least we believe that to be true.
Just thought I'd share a giggle!

Re: they really do control our behavior
Sat, October 10, 2009 - 2:27 PMLiving with humans, cats become very human, I think. That might be why we identify with them so well--we're nothing if not manipulators ourselves. -

Mon, October 19, 2009 - 3:57 PMMy Late Zen would do that with the furry mice. When he saw me getting out the Long Stick he knew that we were going on a Mousie Hunt. Then he would follow me around expectantly........ -

Tue, October 20, 2009 - 8:08 AMMy wild (sort of) cats do not play with toys and if I put the toys in the cats house, they throw the toys out.
They catch mice though.
