Now that I've sorted through the mess that is my room, I noticed teeth marks on everything that can hold teeth marks- pens, pen caps, boxes, paper, even the rubber feet on my desk fan. Then I caught the culprit- Magee is a chewing monster! She will chew on anything for the fun of it, but seems to like rubbery surfaces or plastic pen tops best- they are hard, but have a bit of 'give'
I bought a pack of dentastix (the kind for puppies and small dogs so it is kitty-sized) but they don't last long enough (and the other two cats eat them as well). She doesn't seem to like rawhide chewies or nylabone (too hard, I think). Any suggestions?

Re: chewing
Mon, March 31, 2008 - 1:47 PMMy cat was the BIGGEST chewing monster!!! She would always chew on electrical cords too!!! Well....I tried everything. I used the bitter spray that they sell at pet stores for cats and it does work. They mostly are doing it out of boredom. I would have play sessions with her twice a day for 10-15 minutes. By the time she turned 3..she hasn't chewed on anything. She would chew on anything laying out now she stopped. But for 3 years...she was CRAZY!!! I had to hide EVERYTHING. She even ate threw the antenna on my portable house phone and I had to get a new one!
